Barcelona eyeing Cesar Azpilicueta move

The Chelsea captain has less than six months left on his contract. And Chelsea is currently unable to participate in contract negotiations. It is highly likely that Azpilicueta will almost end his legendary 10-year stay at Chelsea.

Barcelona has long shown interest in the versatile veteran and Xavi Hernandez is looking to strengthen his defense in the summer. Cesar Azpilicueta likes to play at center-back or right-back. Azpilicueta saw it as something of a signing card that could help Barcelona try again to win La Liga next season.

According to ESPN, the Spanish giants hope of Chelsea’s current predicament can actually improve. Rather than hinder, their chances of catching the 32-year-old. The report says that Chelsea has the option of a one-year extension.
